Is Rust getting laggier?

When I first got Rust in like June, I was able to get a solid 60 FPS on the Beautiful setting, whereas now, on the Simple setting, I'm getting 30 - 60, like 15 on the Beautiful, why can't I run it well anymore? Have the updates made it laggier? My PC isn't even a year old and I built it myself.

yeah i used to get around 45 FPS on beautiful but now I get like 15

yep. component system puts more load on your pc to render all the junk piles as well as all the new aesthetic things like fallen trees and rocks

they haven't optimized the game in a while.
