Author Topic: Northgard: Survival RTS - winter is coming  (Read 899 times)

After years of tireless explorations, brave Vikings have discovered a new land filled with mystery, danger and riches: Northgard.
The boldest Northmen have set sail to explore and conquer these new shores, bring fame to their Clan and write history through conquest, trading, or devotion to the Gods.
That is, if they can survive the dire wolves and undead warriors roaming the land, befriend or defeat the giants, and survive the harshest winters ever witnessed in the North

Northgard is an RTS game with very original elements brought in. Basebuilding is made more robust and involved by utilizing "tiles" that each limit the amount of buildings a player can place there. A survival aspect is put into play, requiring the player to stock up on resources to survive winters, and weather random events that happen throughout the year. Other features include:

- Choose from different clans each with their own perks and advantages
- Manage settler happiness to ensure growth
- Simple but tactical combat system
- Varying win conditions from forging an ancient sword, to recieveing the four blessings from the gods, to complete domination

tbh if you've played and liked banshied or age of empires, youll love this game. this game feels really light, and while its really easy to pick up it gets very challenging in the mid/late game. its still in early access, but the games really stable (as far as ive experienced), and the devs are really cool and actively pushing out new content. its $20 on steam, and im sure itll go one sale for $10-$15 during the summer sale this year

stuff looks gorgeous

it's a pretty cool game
saw it a while back, didn't realize it was on steam now

As an Age of empires, Stronghold, Anno, Cossacks, Settlers, Civilization player.. this looks very promising.
