I think (and I don't agree with him here if that's what he's saying) that, assuming OP's story is even true, the kid being black is relevant because due to the current social climate, a black kid could copy off of OP, who I'm assuming is white, and would get off scott free on account of being black.
I think that's silly, and I do wonder why OP felt the need to mention he was black unless someone pulled the race card to prove innocence, but OP's story is so shaky I don't even care anymore.
