Problem with projectile emmiters

projectile trails for weapons don't appear until a while after i shoot them. I think. Help?

Is this for every weapon? Was it always like this, or did it occur recently.

It's always like this, and it's really weird. like, I'll fire a laser rifle and the lasers wont really appear until later a foot away, which, with that much spread looks really stupid.

Weird. Im sorry, but I don't know what to suggest. Im sure more experienced players might be able to solve it.
