Windows Vs Mac

Author Topic: Windows Vs Mac  (Read 6299 times)

which system is better windows or the mac. I think Mac Because its faster and takes 30 seconds to start windows takes 5 minutes so its your choice which is better.
 Mac:    Fast loading
          Faster sites
          Good games.
Windows  Very slow loading
can get Rar And EXE files.
Alot of downloads for it.     I have both.  But please stop saying which is better.
Windows doesn't take 5minutees to start, it takes less than one minute if your computer is filled with free/virus infected research.

I have a I think a 6 year old windows and it probaly starts up faster than a Mac.

skele,

why is your "well ipods are the dominate mp3 player sales, so mac clearly wins this area and is best at it" logic good enough for macs, but if you bring this over to the windows/macOS debate, all of a sudden you have a book to write about the evil empire MS?
when by your logic, windows would be the FAR superior product.

and fine, maybe microsoft does suck ass, and the only reason people use windows is because the populace built up this compatibility with each other on it, and software and hardware developers will just follow the money here, and produce intense product variety.

.....this is an even BETTER reason to use windows/not mac OS's

I remember having a kind of old Mac G3. It took about 4 minutes to start up.

Wow, Macs are expensive aren't they?

Let me end this now. Mac sucks, and you know what? I own one and do not have any access to a Windows computer so therefore I am a very un-happy Mac user. Macs are slow, I get multiple freezes in one session and I don't have a virus; they definitely cannot do what Windows or Ubuntu can. The keyboards that are packaged with the Mac that fit the "style" of the desktop are cheap, I have had to buy two loving keyboards due to the previous ones breaking and I am not going to start on the piece of stuff that Apple calls a mouse. I am happy to say that I am going to possibly get a Windows computer and when I do I will rip my Mac off of the wall, cords 'a trailing, and personally throw it down a well in the heart of Africa and feel that I have done a good deed. There is no competition here, Windows is obviously the dominant operating system. Save yourselves and don't buy one.

One of the wells Bill Gates dug?

Let's think about this metaphorically for a second, take social networking for example. We will use Myspace and Facebook.

All your friends use myspace, yet you like the features on facebook better, so you register on facebook.

Too bad no one you know uses it, you've got lots of features but no one to socialise/network with, what a waste of time that was.

Myspace is Windows in this case, and Facebook is a Mac.

That is all.

I use Windows because it is mainstream, and I started on it. I am used to it because of this.

Also, many of the games that I play run on Windows, and I would go insane if I had nothing but a Mac, and a library of games that I couldn't play.

I got a chance to use a Mac in school, though it was stuffty and ran on OS9, it felt very clean. My dad recently got a Mac because he got sick of his Windows-operating laptop crashing. Also, my dad isn't one of those people who don't know stuff about computers, as he works around computers as a side-job (formatting and reinstalling OS's, replacing hardware, fixing other stuff). I'm not sure which is better for media, but I would assume that Mac is, and before you ask for a reason, I don't have one as I have never been able to spend too much time with a Mac.

However, when Microsoft dies, or at least when Windows ceases to exist, it is very likely that I will switch to Linux.

I don't like either, which one is Linux?  :cookieMonster: But seriously, I don't like or use either.

Linux.

It's faster than Windows, with lower system requirements.
It looks better than Windows or Mac (Compiz - http://youtube.com/watch?v=7ye5qpt10CU).
It is free.
It has more applications than Windows availible through one click - over 20,000 free and functional applications can be downloaded and installed through one click in about 10 seconds. No more installers.
No viruses at all. No malware.

It has many Mac-specific features (in fact, it invented most of them). "Spaces" and instant search were in Linux before Mac OS X or Vista. There are also Compiz plugins for cool window features like Expose.

Equivalents for every major Windows application that are compatible with the Windows equivalent.

OpenOffice.org compatible with MS Office
Evolution compatible with MS Exchange and Outlook
Firefox
VLC Media Player plays every file format I can throw at it (more than WMP can)
Pidgin (compatible with MSN)
GIMP (compatible with Photoshop)
Working Java (lol Mac Java is broken)
Professional Video editors like Kdenlive for free
Professional Audio editors like Audacity for free
Transmission Bittorent
Inkscape is better than Adobe Illustrator

It also runs Windows games at full speed and compatibility using Wine - Blockland runs faster than on Windows for me.

tom, they aren't comparing the same specs, or even software.
what kind of "study" is that?

lol and wtf at imac $1500.00?
20-in. screen,
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
1 GB DDR2 RAM, 320 GB hard drive
 built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
8x CD/DVD burner, remote control
ATI Radeon HD 2600 graphics card.

that's complete stuff, way way overcharged lol
