Does the mac version lag more in online play than it does in single player? If it lags a lot i wont buy it. Please respond badspot or anyone else who cares.-_-

First, please don't bump old topics. Secondly, having on Mac doesn't make it lag. It depends what specs your computer has.

well.. i still didn't get the answer to my question. Just plz tell me IN GENERAL if the online version lags more than single player. :( Plaz? :panda:

The online version does not lag any more from my experience. It takes a little longer to load the datablocks (5 seconds), but otherwise I haven't noticed a difference. As long as you have broadband, you should be fine. The area where you might get more lag is that people generally use more bricks online than offline, so that might cause a little more but not much.

macs perform better then windows

Any type of comparison between the two platforms could not be nearly that cut and dry.

1. High-end Mac hardware is not inherently better than high-end PC hardward.  New Macbooks are using Intel CPUs and NVIDIA GPUs, just like a lot of PCs.

2. Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) is nearly as bad as Windows Vista in terms of breaking software / hardware compatibility.

3. Mac is still very much a niché platform in terms of market share.

the mac os x is like that because apple took a different route in updating technology(aka update and forget old code). thats why there is hardware and software incompatibility. In Microsofts case they have to spend to much time on legacy code and not enough on moving foward.

all and all both platforms have issues but the apple marketing campaign is better. does anybody remediable the bug in windows safari that allowed carpet bombing?

Depends how good your internet connection is and the connection of the host.

Exactly. Theres no general speed, it all depends what specs your computer are. PM them to me, or post them, and I can give you a definite answer. Otherwise, goodluck.

There is no real answer to this question due to many factors:
1) Are you hosting?
2) Connection speed to server.
3) Hold-ups on your connection.
4) Hold-ups on the host's connection.
5) Hold-ups on the host's processor.
(Reason I didn't mention your processor because that would count for offline aswell)
Also, DO NOT BUMP A TOPIC WITH AN OFF-TOPIC POST!
THIS WAS A TOPIC ABOUT UPDATES FOR MAC! NOT A TOPIC ABOUT LAG ON A MAC.

Even though this topic is old, for the mac users, can't you just download the manual update, grab the particles, and stick them in your Blockland folder?

srry for the topic change, but this is an old topic and doesn't get many posts -_-. But anyways, mac users can't download the updates, because they are exe files. (windows executables). But there will be a mac version of the updates when v9 comes out :).

mac users trying to game? who could have POSSIBLY foreseen issues arising?

this had been a bisjac troll of the month
