a lot of us grew up with pixar movies, so its understandable that we go see that latest one.
For example i remember toy story and bugs life and going to see those in the theaters.
When reading some posts about Wall-E, one post mentioned that they didn't see a single kid the the theater. I saw it in a drive in, which was cool by itself. Also, there is allot of appeal to geeks, especially Wall-E's charged up sound. I laughed out loud, and my parents in the front seat of the car just looked at me weird.
