Author Topic: Events checking what prints on a print brick  (Read 1534 times)

I've noticed the fact that with current events, You cannot check exactly what a print has on its face through events (i.e: Number)
I am wondering if this is possible and if anyone is willing enough to bring this into reality.
If possible, I would like to see this server side so everyone can use it, Rather then client side and not everyone with the ability.

Thanks to all participants in advance.

Bump, cause I really want to see this happen.

(Is it just me or since V9 theres been a large influx of posts/members active on the forums, more then before...)

double bump/triple toast....
D: Can I atleast get some feedback on the idea.

You can change the number, incrementPrintCount, decrementPrintCount, setPrintCount, there are hooks as well for when the print count overflows or underflows (goes above 9, goes below 0 respectively).

He means
'Check if it is 1, if so, blow up'

Yes, say theres a counter and if it gets to number 86, It lights up. This is not currently possible. (To my knowledge) But, if you could check what number was on a print, It could work.

EDIT: I see why you said that reform, My lousy topic name choice. Ill change it.

Bump

I'm bumping this because I don't feel like making another topic about it. Save the forums!.

I really would like to know if anyone is going to actually attempt this or if anyone is making something similar. D:

(Btw, holy stuff guys, 3 effing pages of topics in one day...)

I have things dealing with numbers but not with letters.

I'm only really asking for numbers, letters would be icing on the cake. And thanks headcrab.

Ok, I have everything working just fine, except for one problem.
Triggering a spawnExplosion with it crashes the server :|

EDIT : It appeared to be an issue with my game, and not the code, because after doing some stuff it seems to be fixed, and I can't get it to crash again.

Download

Example :
onActivate -> Self -> ifPrintThenRelay -> A
onRelay -> Self -> spawnExplosion -> Pong

<3  EDIT: do you plan on putting this in add-ons?

Sorry for my laziness to check myself, but...

does it work for multiple bricks at once? As in make a riddle like in the tutorial?

ex. if you didn't understand what i just said:

riddle: What's 123 x 321 x 0?

Answer (in prints): 0 dumbass!

(once answer is printed, door opens.)

<3  EDIT: do you plan on putting this in add-ons?
Eh, once I get a few events done, I'll release them in a pack.
