It's freeware now. Like most retail games that are freeware now, it's ad-supported (In this case, by the United States Air Force).

I've never actually played the game myself, as my computer never could run it, but I remember following it up to its release date. It was supposed to be a pretty interesting game, as it was a combination of a first-person shooter game and real-time strategy game. I guess it managed to pull it off fairly well, as PC Gamer rated it pretty highly (at 90% if you must know).

If you like free games, or you like real-time strategy games that are set in the BC era, you might want to download this game.

Just a heads-up, though; the original retail game had StarForce. I'm not sure if the free version has it, but I'm pretty certain this freeware version of the game is in no way different from the retail version.
