Okay, all my itunes stuff is on my old computer.

I want to get all of it on my lovey new computer in time for the release of Dark Knight on Tuesday, so I can watch it on my nice LCD and have it download faster through Ethernet.

Help.

Install Itunes on new computer.
On your old computer, in Itunes, click File > Library > Export library
Transfer file that is created to the other computer.
Transfer the music to the other computer, make sure the file path remains the same.
On your new computer, do something with the created file. I think you have to drag it to Itunes or something.
If all goes well, your music should all now show up in Itunes on the new computer.
Good luck!

also deauthorize old computer

I keep a backup disc of my music on a DVD rom so that if I were to ever need to reformat or switch computers, I'd have the disc ready to go and program the default music I had in there. Takes me less than 5 minutes...unless I hit those "convert" songs.

When you say transfer library, can that be done with networking, or does it have to be done through a medium like a disk or an Ipod?

You could link your two computers and transfer it that way, or use a medium.

Finally, can I just deauthorize my old computer, authorize my new one "check for purchases" and download all my old stuff?
