Beyond that, there's not much of a "trick" here. I'm guessing Nix used his scripting skills to spawn a gravity rocket and scale it.

The bolded part is important. Notice how it is not eventing. That is why there's no "trick" to it.

It's not that hard.  How I do it (he might do it a little different) is spawn it from a brick, and just use scale values larger then what you can use within the wrench events menu.
