Author Topic: BL freezes whole computer  (Read 1070 times)

I'm using Windows XP with the latest drivers for my GeForce 7100 GS, and the latest version of Blockland. A problem has just started where sometime during the course of playing, a few minutes from loading usually, blockland will freeze, freezing everything with it. All sound stops, alt-tab etc does nothing, everything seems frozen until I reboot.

I had the problem a while back, and after a recent total reinstallation of everything I was happy to see Blockland was working for me again, but now the problem has returned and I can't really think of anything that could cause it. Has anyone else here experienced similar problems or know what the cause or solution may be?

that has never happened to me, but it might be that your pc is too slow, out of space to store data, or you have another program that messes it up

Shut up.

Anything in console.log before it happens?
Got any crap add ons?
Got milk?

Console.log has nothing out of the ordinary, but I think you could be on to something with add ons. I haven't personally installed any add ons, but I have joined servers that have around six billion add ons to download before joining. Can an add on that's been automatically downloaded cause trouble without any intervention from me?

I removed all the add-ons that I think aren't default and the problem still persists. Any ideas about what to try next to diagnose the problem?

Do you use FUllScreen, Don't if it freezes, the only way to close BL is to find the little box hidden behind the window that says: End Program. Or turn the computer On & Off manually, (With the breaker switch)

If you don't, look at the Game Engine and see what could be wrong.

I use windowed mode. When it crashes everything on the screen freezes, I'm left with a static image of whatever was on the screen when it crashed.

I don't understand what you mean by 'look at the Game Engine'.

I think this problem was caused by a dust build up in my computer's main fan causing something to overheat. I have removed the dust and my computer has not frozen on Blockland since. Thanks, everyone, for the help attempts. Sorry for wasting your time.
