There was a game pretty similar to this on the old Apple computers (back when they went by Macintosh) except you could choose from three different base ships and buy upgrades. It was a lot of fun but infuriating, especially with the old Mac keyboards. Anyone remember the name of that? I've gotten rid of my derelict computers.
