Author Topic: Brick trimmer  (Read 953 times)

have you ever found that when yor placing a roof on a build, tha it may be extremely difficult to make?
well... just maybe make it possible to cut bricks out of the equation, place a 64x64 brick on top of an irregular shape, then trim it to the size you want... i dont know if its possible... but it sure would make my life easier

Great Idea, just Blockland is on a grid system that runs off of Multiples of 1,2 and 8
You would have to have models of EVERY EXISTING BRICK IN THE SHAPE OF EVERY WAY POSSIBLE YOU COULD EDIT THEM! It is an awesome idea, it's just not worth it.

impossible because we're too lazy

No, he is right, it is impossible. The grid system is not the case though. We can only have bricks that are made from datablocks and we can not create those ingame. Datablocks tell the game what the object can/can't do. So without it we would not know what size the brick is or such. Since the bricks are on a grid system, we do not need to worry about it since the brick would be placed within the grids to start with.

what he said, lol

in Vanilla Blockland, or more importantly, RTB 1, it was commonplace to make your own bricks since it was easier to change the dimensions of a DTS than a custom system.
Shame that was lost  :(

We could make a datablock for every brick beforehand, IF there wasn't a datablock limit, which there is, so therefore impossible.

Nah, that was because vanilla bricks were scalable, allowing them to become any dimensions without complications.

I'm sure there's a good reason for why retail bricks aren't scalable but I don't know it.
