Its butt-end thing is similar to your mystery bug. And it's a moth.
But look at the wings and head.  There is a difference.
Edit: not only that but;

Bobongs breed in the flatland areas of Australia but migrate immediately afterward to avoid the heat, into the high mountain country of the Australian Alps.

It is, actually, probably a cicada.

It is, actually, probably a cicada.
Unfortunately, the only cicadas in England are found all the way to the south, so it's not a cicada.

GAH I know it's a moth! I just wish I could find a picture that could convince you.
Look at its head and your bug's head:

its an alien!..or a new bug..well its not a moth..i thought moths looked like they had feathers..sorta...

It's an interbred species of beetles and moths. Kill it before it makes more hybrids!

GAH I know it's a moth! I just wish I could find a picture that could convince you.
Look at its head and your bug's head:

That is the head of this thing;

Also, it still doesn't have the jaw structure my bug has, the tongue is just rolled up.
Sorry to keep trying to prove you wrong, but I really need to figure out what this actually is.

I am going to ask my biology teacher if he knows what it is, I have biology on Wednesday so we may know for sure on Wednesday.

Details on my bug;
  • Pincer-like jaws
  • Hairy
  • Has wings
  • Has eyes inside of head, not outside like most moths
  • About the length of an adult's thumb

I'll be waiting when you get your answer...

You can keep trying to find out what it is though...  At least we are narrowing it down.

>_< sorry for double-post.
Kabump.

We had a sub today who no nothing about biology, he was a french teacher.
In other words, did not get an answer.
