This is the earliest I can remember but I know it's not the first I got.

it had been out for about 3 years before i got my copy
sadly, i had epilepsy and it had flashing lights, so my parents gave away my genesis and my copy of sonic the hedgehog

Technically, the first game I ever PLAYED was Super Mario Brothers for the Commodore 64, but the first video games I ever OWNED were Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic and Knuckles for the Sega Genesis. Got them on my third birthday.

I still have the original cartridges. Sonic 2's is easily identified by the scratch marks on the cartridge's label, because I dropped it behind a dresser when I was little.

sonic and knuckles and sonic the hedgehog 3 were meant to be the same game
but time constraints caused them to put it in two parts like they did
but, if you put them together, you have the REAL Sonic the Hedgehog 3
