Author Topic: Driv3r Tips and Hints; Become a better Driver.  (Read 1544 times)

*This is for Driv3r and Possibly Driv3r Parralell Lines. Driv3r may be old, but quite common notheless*

You see a sports car parked right behind a Dump Truck. You take the sports car, thinking it is faster.

Well, don't. First of all, most vehciles in the game go the almost exact same speed.
Second, you are better off with the Rig, 'cause the player mount point is high than than on the sports car. Thus a less chance of getting your tires shot out by police.
Third, the Rig is way more durable.

You go right, right up to some "thug" and shoot him, you end up dieing and kill the controller.

The main thing to this is; You have way better accuracy with your weapons, as long as crosshairs are highlighted red/blue. You could be quite far, and still kill them, whilst the don't hurt you the slightest bit.

A cop comes onto your tail, you just dirve straight down a road. Straight.

Dodge. The cops have this little thing called "Double-Speed Mode" Where their speed doubles. This is really a glitch 'caused by the 18-wheeler archany mode. (Miami Armoury). Weave through poles, or drive through the sidewalk. The cops are less likely to hit you. Same as for alleyways.

The cops start ramming you from behind.

Try to stay as far from the cops as possible, and if this does happen, go to a "hilly" park/landscape that is quite large. Take the biggest of jumps possible. It will help.

You end up running low on ammo, and you want to save it for the next big battle.

Remember Tanners old 9mm that no one ever uses. Use it. It has a semi-large clip and fast firing rate. It also has a long range.

You keep on failing at making a good cop chase movie.

Try Driving Games, your felony never rises, giving you the upper hand. Or, keep your felony under the halfway mark on the felony meter.

You are going though a mission, and you just die, or can't find the enemy.

Go back to Video Director, and right before deatjh, use the camera to scan for thugs. Giving you the hand on knowing when they will pop up.

Not all vehicles drive the same.

Some vehicles in this game have really hard control. Try choosing the vehicle that is best for you.

Litter the streets with your vehicle.

If you take your favorite Vehicle (Lets say a Harley Davidson.) It will become a more commonly spawned vehcile than any other.
(EXCLUDING SECRET VEHICLES, OR NONSECRET SINGULAR VEHICLES; The Sobe Deliver Van)

Who said cheats were for losers?

Stuck on a hard part? Cheats.

*Thinking of more hints. If you have ANY hints that are not put on the list. Just mention them. They could wind up on there.*

Almost none of this applies to Driver: Parallel Lines.

I miss Driv3r though. I liked to load up the cheats, and run on the oncoming side of a highway shooting my grenade launcher at the coming cars, timing them perfectly so the grenade would explode right when a car passed it, making it fly hundreds of feet.

Ah, I used to love doing that.

Then I had to get rid of my Xbox and get the PC version instead

PC version has no cheats :(

only way of getting cheats is a hex editor

from gfaqs:
Cheat Codes (MAKE A COPY OF THE FILES YOU EDIT BEFORE SAVING)

Open the ProfileData file in a hex editor and change the hexadecimal values at the following locations from 00 to 01 to "Unlock" that cheat's toggle in the Cheats menu: 1A4 - Unlocks the Cheat Menu itself 196 - All Missions 198 - All weapons 19A - Unlimited Ammo 19C - Invincibility (In Take-A-Ride) 19E - Immunity 1A2 - All Vehicles

wow thats really lame, a dump truck goes as fast as a sports car

A quote I once read:
'First, there is rock bottom.
Then there is 15 feet of human excrement.
Then there is Driv3r'

I once saw someone play it and it looked pretty bleh.

forget, that was funny.

It can look "Bleh" Alot of times. But  I still love it.
I got it 3 hours after it entered EB Games in PG.
