Author Topic: Is Google Sketchup An OK Program To Model With?  (Read 2505 times)

I can never get SketchUp models to work in Blockland. I'd like it if you explained, Pandan?

Isn't the AS-KR hollow?
Are you insane?

Of course i fill it with jelly.

How else would it maintain it's shape?

Well, Here is my step-by-stop process to getting a sketch up model into blockland.

1. Create my model.
2. Export my model. (.3ds)
3. Import my model to MilkShape.
4. Texture and re size my model.
5. Add joints/nodes to my model
(For a weapon, usually 'mountPoint' and 'muzzlePoint')
(For a vehicle, usually "All of the hubs" and 'mount1' etc..)
6.Then, i bring it into game by creating a folder called Weapon_Test(datehere)
And spawning it with mission editor. So i can take measurements.
("It's a little faster than making a test script weapon or something")

After ive done that, I make the finally adjustments, Such as texture name changes..
Re sizing again!.. animations... and flat shading.

THen explain how the BL tank was made.  That was sketchup.  I know a free way to convert to DTS format.
yes so do I, it's not that hard ppl ad you end up using blender for the exporting anyway.
