I have 1.5tb in three partitions, two of which are formatted for windows usage.

I bought eight gigs right off the bat. The motherboard had four ram slots, and so I decided to fill them. :P

I'm using a 504mb ram computer and my other has 512 mb ram. 1 gb is enough, 2gb is more than enough, 4gb is incredibly unneeded :o

It's probably not necessary. You'll hardly notice a difference.
