You're missing the fact that Apple selectively markets to people who do not know how to use a computer. The Macintosh user identifies himself as ignorant and disabled. When a task comes up that sounds difficult, he automatically assumes that he can't do it. Most of the time he is correct.
Another member also mentioned in a previous topic that if Windows users actually read the instructions and little OS Tours that Microsoft kindly gives, they wouldn't have the problems they do have. Typical problems that Windows users come across can be easily prevented by simply using the computer correctly and protecting the system from Viruses. The simple fact is that most people are completely handicapped when it comes to computers and as Badspot said, assume that they can't do it. I would know, my parents are the same way. Who would have thought that looking around the display properties would have gotten me to clone their monitor. The problem is, when most people run into a problem, they simply accept it as a constant of reality and then make no effort to try to fix it. Then, when their computer becomes unusable do to malware or some corrupt files, they instantly assume that those Macs they've heard so much about are the clear answer. I wouldn't know much about Macs. I've never used one and never will. I don't plan on ever needing to. Windows meets my needs as well as it needs to.
