I got this game on sale from Steam, and I really liked the first STALKER but not so much this one, at least this short into the story. Maybe this is just me, but I could run the first STALKER really well and nice looking, but I run STALKER Clear Sky like stuff. Seriously, even with the settings turned reasonably high (sacrificing most hopes of playable framerates) the game just looks bad. I understand that Clear Sky has bonzo-DX10 lighting, but with that turned off and the lighting at 'static' I'm still getting poor framerates, and I can't even begin to delude myself into thinking that this one looks as good as the first.
But then again, it could just be some background process I have open that's sapping my processing power.
Thoughts on this game?
Let me clarify a bit: It seems that you have to have the bonzo lighting turned all the way up, textures, shaders, antialiasing and antistropic, shadows and everything volumetric cranked at 1600x1200 for this game to look as good as what I thought the first one looked.
