Author Topic: XM8 weapon please?  (Read 1915 times)

Alright..not sure if people are going to go "Play MW2!" or anything because I haven't played it yet and I am not sure what weapons are even on it. Alright now the XM8 was a gun with a built in laser scope, this gun project however was cancelled, in most gun games, this gun is very accurate and has an all around nice feel to it, so anyone up to the challenge?

No. We have plenty of generic weapons already.

Plus, one of Pandan's Halo weapons is close enough to this.

You know the production of that gun was cancelled because all it was, was a G36. Literally, a skinned G36. H&K tried to rip us off with the piece-of-stuff XM8.

Another H&K gun, this will be pretty short because the XM-8 isn't like a G-36. It IS a G-36. Basically the Germans saw that we too were getting a little fed up with with the M-16 quirks so they decided to sell us their G-36. But wait, they were smarter than that. If they were going to rip off the US and it's huge army with a massive contract they'd try to get as much out of it as possible. So they decided to make the XM-8. They started with a polymer body redesign so that we wouldn't mistake it for a G-36 (instead disguising it as a super-soaker), added an extendo-stock because we Americans could never adapt from the M4's stock to a folding one heaven forbid (and this was a good move on H&K's part because I already mentioned that the G-36's stock sucks). Then they pulled the most important part of the plan: They sold it as the most modular weapon ever (meanwhile pretending that the Magpul Masada and Robinson Arms XCR didn't exist) and made it's rail interface incompatible with anything that currently existed. Now why would they do that? Easy. Because if their rail system was incompatible with anything else guess who gets the contract for all of the XM-8's nifty geardo-ings? H und K.
Too bad that there were a few hitches in the plan.
First off us Americans weren't as stupid as they thought we were. We knew it was a G-36 and therefore by proxy an A.R.18. We also knew better than to waste all that money on an assault rifle that was only marginally better than what we already had given the cheaper competition vying for the same contract (like the SCAR made by H&K's Belgian nemesis, FN). We also knew that when stuff started MELTING during the torture tests who would be voted off the island first.
Crafty, H&K. But not crafty enough.

I don't know why everyone likes it so much, I think it's ugly.

I like the way it looks.

You ever seen an AUG?

I like the way it looks.

Bump and exactly why I want it, also this isn't a common weapon so...yea not too generic..

Edit: Decided to make a model of it on sketch up for fun.. IMO it's not very good because this would be the first weapon I tried to create, but why not let people give their opinions of it.
