Games minimize on startup.

Whenever I start a Steam game, it instantly minimizes. When I open it again, it just minimizes. Any solution?

Happens to me sometimes, usually if I end the game (usually via Task Manager) and start it again, it'll work. Does it keep happening even when you exit?

one game i have refuses to run with fraps open. so it minimizes like that.
bioshock for some handicapped reason refused to work on my comp unless firefox was closed.
maybe try closing a few things.

or go into your game prefs and edit the resolution to 800x600 and readjust in game again.
the settings for resolution might be wrong for your monitor.

I've heard that it is linked to Direct3D. Which would make sense, because it only happens on older games (does it on Deus Ex, doesn't do it on CS:S)

I just fullscreen my browser then maximize the game. Works perfectly.
