Author Topic: Does Steam use different servers then non-steam games?  (Read 598 times)

So I was playing COD4 last night and my friend messaged me and said he wanted to play with me. I gave him the name of the server I was playing in and he said he couldn't find it. After realizing that he was using just a box install of COD4, it raised the question: Do people playing off of Steam host a different set of servers than the people using Steam?

I was wondering this at one point too, I have never played a game like that off steam though.

if they did then you wouldnt have seen that person using the retail version
