A limit on emoticons-per-post would probably be a better idea.
You rarely need one, or even two emoticons for any single post.

Edit: Another thing, these icons could be spammed even if they were removed using image tags.
So a limit probably would be pointless as well.

I wouldn't mind this because I've only posted maybe 6 or 7 emoticons in my whole life excluding the talking with emotes topic.

I think the emoticons are here from the start of the forum, no way Badspot will remove them.
