In an effort to drastically speed up my system, I recently installed Ubuntu 10.10 to my laptop.
I've enjoyed a lot about it. It's faster and I basically just enjoy it more. But it does have it's drawbacks, and Blockland is included. I've managed to get Blockland running with Wine, and am glad, but I have noticed that it is very choppy.
I know it has to be interpreted by Wine and everything to run, but it does affect gameplay. It reminds me of keys sticking, like the jets get caught on or off, and I have to hit the keys again if you know what I mean. Occasionally it skips and looks off to one direction, or doesn't.
Basically I'm just wondering if there's a way to improve the way it runs. I'm sorry if what I'm saying doesn't make much sense, and can rephrase it if asked, but I am looking for help, and thanks in advance if you do.
tl;dr: running blockland on ubuntu with wine comes out a little choppy and I'm wondering if it can be fixed to some extent
I do also want to know if there is a way to get Java running, but I'm going to stick with running BL as my priority at the moment. If anyone knows about it though, feel free to post.
Again, thanks in advance for any help.
