Didn't I mention before that Muslims did influence science and mathematics, but that Christians influenced the fields more?

I really see no point in debating these points with you; you really don't even address my points, so I am going to say good night.

Um, I like how you completely ignored my statement which frontally addresses your opinion.

I think you mean Ancient Greeks; they weren't Christians but polytheistic.

Islam promoted the sciences for a long time, and actually translated and stored the ancient Greek writings. During the crusades Christians got a hold of some of these writings; but it took awhile for Europeans to start a Renaissance. China and the nations of Islam were mush more advanced early on; but plateaued in their knowledge allowing Christians/Europeans to overcome them in science and civilization.

Ninja edit:

That is rather depressing that some people actually take that seriously.

Oh I just realized, Greek Christians were the first to measure the circumference of the world.
Muslim philosophers took the knowledge from parts of Asia and Greek and made the foundations of modern math and science that we know. Also ancient greeks weren't christian idiot, and Romans weren't either until Jesus came along.

Yeah you were completely right. :/
(I kinda knew that, I just hoped that you guys didn't.  lol.)

Anyways, I have recently addressed my beliefs and philosophies on life, culture, society, and virtues and the one decision you guys will care about is that I am now atheist.

Yes, Muslims built off of the basic mathematical foundings of Greece especially, and perfected and advanced many parts of math for the most part.

Christians- 0
Non-Christians- 1

Yes, the Inquisition.

Also, right now; many christian "charity" groups are in Africa convincing local tribes (who have had tolerance for hundreds of years) to kill gays among them due to AIDs. Instead of passing around condoms or something helpful.
LOL.
oh god thats so stupid.

you're saying that Christians did more work than anyone else.
which is a steaming load.
goddamnit you're so loving arrogant.

if you would take the time to read a nice World History textbook, you'd find the Islamic religion did a stuffton of math and science and pretty much formed an even better basis for our entire Mathematics system (algebra, geometry, etc).
all the loving christians did during the times of Henry II, Charlemagne, and Innocent II was bicker and bitch about who could boss who around, what to believe, etc.

tl;dr you're full of stuff

:P

I don't give a crap whether or not you are atheist; but if you actually have a proper understanding of Science and History before you make assumptions. That is my main reason for hating most Christian fundamentalists; because they just have no idea what they are talking about, not because of their belief in god.

They did...you realize that, right?

Christians did most of it because they are most of the population.
:P

I go to a catholic high school.  I can kind of recognize this whole bias about it obviously, but they teach pretty well.  A direct quote from my religion teacher for all of your viewing pleasure:

"All of these 'Moslims' go and try to make us believe their religion, and when we don't they attack us, then we send crusades back and kill them.  And nowadays, they go: 'BOOM!' and try to kill us again."

This one finds it difficult to accept the sincerity of your statements.

Well believe it or not, but I took my cross off last night.  I had worn that for...5 years straight.

So we're arguing about christianity again? Oh balls
