Door knobs are an American phenomenon, I've never seen one anywhere in Finland, ever.
Ha.

Oh that is humorous.

Why would you want people to open the door while you were on the toilet?
In case someone superglued the toilet seat.

We have those here too, mainly on public buildings because of Bush the 1st.

Oddly, most bathroom locks witha keyhole are just for show, almost all can be opened easily with a popsicle stick.

My old house was like 100 years old.

My dad built this house.

Also yay for door knobs being door knobs; stupid invention be here

Niether, it's a button push lock. It disengages when the knob is twisted from the inside so it's easy to exit, but the knob doesn't work on the outside when the lock is engaged. On the outside, there's a small, 3 or 4mm hole that has a switch buried inside of it that disengages the lock so you can open it if you have a screwdriver or pencil or something of that nature.
