"Is anybody there?"

There's far more possibilities when it comes to motion.
Unless you mean simulated reality or holographic integration or something, I see no real "range" with motion control. There's a lot of improvements that need to be made right now especially.

Think about action games.
Would you rather:
Mash Square(PS3)/X(Xbox)/Some button(PC)
or,
have actual physics affecting your attacks and blocking.

By "actual physics" you mean "hacky game physics" due to no resistance in the real world as opposed to the game world. If they perfected it, then it'd be interesting, but it still will never beat classic button mashing

I find button mashing quite boring. I've gotten more entertainment out of Wii resort's sword play than I did God of War and other similar games. However, because of sword play's major lack of pretty well everything except combat, it didn't last me very long.

Well, button mashing can be boring, but actually learning fluid button combos is really challenging. I've never gotten any more satisfaction out of a Wii game than I've ever gotten out of a normal Xbox or PC game. I mean, I guess it depends on who you are or what you want, but I really don't see motion control ever succeeding the controller.

isnt it like a fancy motion detector?

Yeah, adventures is still fun

Depends on the game.
