I just got the new iPod but I wanted to load some emulators and stuff on there, but I really don't see the point in jailbreaking.

Should I or not?

What does jailbreaking do, exactly? I have heard of kids on my bus doing it, but I am not quite sure.

Allows 3rd party apps that Apple doesn't want on their app store.

Seems like a waste of open-source on the iPod to me.

EDIT: Yeah, I see it really isn't worth it.
