Hot dam that's fast. /sarcasm

500-800 bucks.
Judging by your budget and need for a gaming PC, I recommend an AMD based PC. This way you'll be spending less on the processor and motherboard, and you can have more money going to a high end video card.

This is just at the top of your budget, but it will do everything and more that you intend to do.

Oh dam I was wrong. You can build a good computer for that cheap.

Only issue is, is that one of those parts are sold out.

Well he mentioned a few weeks, so luckily it will be in-stock by then.

start by telling us your budget.

an $800 gaming computer is very different then a $2000 one, and all the advice that follows as well.

For ~$800, you could get a computer where you can't really complain about the quality of any game, even at 1080p. I spent $850 on mine and that's the case.

You won't be able to max out really recent or highly intensive games (the game I haven't been able to max are Crysis, ARMA, STALKER CoP, Metro 2033, Just Cause 2 and GTAIV) but none of them look bad by any stretch of the word.

If you can deal with a few jaggies and maybe not breathtaking but still good effects, you can get a very good machine for ~$800.

800 dollars is cheap?

The 945 is probably cheaper and will yield the same performance. I wouldn't recommend getting the cooler, especially a Zalman one at that. If this is your first build you probably won't be overclocking soon. If you do decide to get a cooler I would go with the Cooler Master Hyper 212. Thermal compound is generally useless, I should add. The case isn't too bad... I wouldn't really recommend a 1tb hard-drive. Most people don't use over 500gb anyways. On that note, I would recommend waiting a bit until the sandy-bridge motherboards become more abundant. They are quite a bit more powerful then AMD's Phenom series right now and only a tad bit pricier. As I said at one point somewhere else, RAM is pretty cheap nowadays. I would definitely go with 6gb.

I would also ditch the 460. AMD's 6850 is more powerful and about the same price.
