Author Topic: 4 Computer Questions about my computer.  (Read 1145 times)

I dun have a budget ATM. I am just wondering costs and all that for the future. It's my birthday in a few months anyways.

Did a bit of sloppy searching and couldn't pull up crap on newegg. You might have to get a new motherboard if you want more power unless someone else finds something.

I don't care, I just want a better gaming and recording system.

I'm not really great at building compares from scratch. My dad usually helps me out. You'd best wait for Otis or someone else who knows more.

I'm also tired and want to go to bed. :P

1. How much does an ATI Radeon HD 5450 cost. (Googling)
2. If I put in a second one, will it double my graphics-card power.
3. Would I need a better power sourcer thingy (Name? :c)
4. Would I need to re-update drivers?

Just wondering, since it doesn't fare well when FRAPS records.
However I don't know if it has to do with processors or anything.
What does FRAPS use more than anything?

Also, I want tricked out gaming stuff.

lovey computer for reference.

I am surprised no one really answered this correctly.

1. Figure it out yourself with google
2. If you put in a second one, it will increase your performance, it will definitely not double it. Also you need a motherboard that is compatible with crossfire.
3. You might need a PSU, you will have to check the wattage requirements of all your components and add them up, then compare with your PSUs wattage.
4. Not sure what you mean.

Re-download the GPU's drivers.

You won't but it takes like 20 seconds so didn't see why you were even worried about it.

I was just curious.

You really need a budget before even starting to consider a new build

I'm not saying I am doing this.
I was just curious to know of costs and such to see if it would actually be worth it.

You will need to make sure your motherboard has 2 PCI-E slots that are AT LEAST 8x when used together if you want any performance boost with 2 5450's.

EDIT: Also, you won't need a 1000w PSU as someone said, I know a 5650 can run off about 300w, I'd go with at least 500-600w to be safe.

I think it costs around 50 - 60$?

I wouldn't bother upgrading the CPU. Don't even bother with a second GPU. It's highly unlikely that your motherboard supports Crossfire. It would also be pointless to do it with 5450's.
