Author Topic: False explosions  (Read 557 times)

I think it would be cool to have cool looking explosions but not having a set damage or splash effect or for ambient explosions that won't throw bricks randomly. The idea came to me on a WW2 build with a battleship offshore. And I thought, what if I could have false flak in the skies or background explosion. I know this is possible, just have an explosion with no damage and no radius impulse.

If it was in the background, it wouldn't matter if it had a radius impact or not. Anyways, it would be nice to have "emitter" explosions. Then you could make events to trigger the emitter on and off, and give it a short duration in order to have the visuals of an explosion, but really be just an emitter.

However, it would be nice if someone could make more than just one, but a pack of emitter explosions. Yes?

Not possible due to the fact that explosions are made up of multiple emitters Wesley

Precisely. Thanks for pointing that out. Then you event it to use all the multiple emitters consecutively and whalah, there you have it. Idk who would do this though...

Or you could use an actual explosion. There's plenty of explosions you can spawn through spawnExplosion that don't do damage, just do more of those, not some silly manual combination of several emitters that you'd have to turn on and quickly turn off.

Exactly, as I said before, if an explosion is in the backgiurnd, why does it need to have no impact? I wouldn't see why you would want to have a fake explosion on the fighting area, that would be pointless.
