Author Topic: Dollar/penny auctions are scams. (Swoopo, beezid, you know it).  (Read 1503 times)

Bump for good consumer decisions.

Do not ever fall into horrible scams like swoopo and beezid.

What happens is you need to pay for bids which means the website has a bot that automatically bids and makes you pay more then you would then just buying the item in a store.

0.60 for 300 bids = 250 $ for a 150$ item.

don't ever ever loving register on these websites.

This should be illegal.
If people fall for it it's their fault.
It's an starfish thing to do, but legislation isn't required.

They advertise that you get great deals on products, but the websites have bots that autobet which makes sure that they catch at least one person in a bidding war, and get him to pay above the asking price.

If the people who would be using this site have all the knowledge of what they might be committing to, there's nothing wrong.
Did you get 'scammed' by these people?
