Author Topic: thinking about getting a windows computer.  (Read 999 times)

One that I mentioned runs game as good at my desktop. My desktop is a year or two old, but can run online games just fine.

i don't play disk games, i only play online games i needed a computer with strong internet capability, a wide screen, and enough power to hold all my data. so far i've had this computer for about 5 years and the only problems i have had were some data transfer glitches that were fixed by the free update, and a key breaking off, which was covered by applecare. i don't want a gaming laptop, i need a computer that is for work only and enough capability to play online without any problems.

you don't want a gaming laptop .. but you want to play online without any problems .. good luck to you sir

Buy This if you can. It can game and help your homework for only under $700. Spend the 20$ for the recovery disc if you can. Spend the extra 40$ if you want a faster computer. Just note that you need a credit card to buy this and it is worth it.
It will work for your needs, its a gaming/homework computer. You can have a bunch of student processes on it and it will work. I want this for christmas though. Alot of people say its worth it though.

looking at that N5010 and it looks good, it's well below my price range so i'll have enough money to pay for any perks i might need and still have money to put into my car fund.

Inspiron is not very good for extended use, the air flow is horrible, the fan will die more quickly than it should, etc.

Other than that, It's perfect for just writing documents and browsing the internet and even some somewhat low-end gaming.

i'm going to go to costco this weekend to look at what they have there, i'll see if i can get a computer for 1/3 discount.

HORRIBLE IDEA.

Get an Alienware laptop since your budget is high enough.
Whoops, I misread the OP.  I thought he just wanted a school notebook.

And secretly play runescape in class.

it just needs to do school work and connect to wifi well. i don't want to wind up wasting a usp drive for a stupid wifi enhancer.

My suggestion would be a cheap gaming/homework solution.
