Author Topic: thinking about getting a windows computer.  (Read 1004 times)

currently i have a macbook pro. the mac is my online gaming computer, it's strong, sturdy, and it is always dependable for homework and the like. lately, though, i have been feeling the need of a more compatible computer that i can use for school. i want that computer to be a windows laptop so it will hook up better with my school computer software. suggest the best laptop, it has to be under 2k because that's probably all i'll make mowing laws and power washing this summer. i also have to save up for a car so it has to come with basic tools such as Microsoft office and the like.

Why would you ever even consider that.

Why would you ever even consider that.
sorry, i meant windows. i grew up with dell/windows so the two became synonymous to me.

>Mac
Fred, I thought you were better than that.  :panda:

Just get a cheap-ass notebook and install XP or Linux on it.  Instant new computer.

ok so go to the store and buy a cinder block - you now have a better gaming computer than a mac!  :cookieMonster:

..jokes aside, I suggest going to newegg to select the parts. it's cheap and reliable. you can easily build a nice computer for under your 2k budget, just make sure the parts are compatible! (inb4 newegg is for desktops blabla forget you mondays they sell laptops too)

either that or buy a Toshiba laptop. they make lovey looking ones for like 1k to 1.6k

Buy This if you can. It can game and help your homework for only under $700. Spend the 20$ for the recovery disc if you can. Spend the extra 40$ if you want a faster computer. Just note that you need a credit card to buy this and it is worth it.

HORRIBLE IDEA.

Get an Alienware laptop since your budget is high enough.

the ahem makes it seem really smart alec and annoying :(

I think that was the point.

Also, all the dell laptops i got all have stuffty batteries.

i don't play disk games, i only play online games i needed a computer with strong internet capability, a wide screen, and enough power to hold all my data. so far i've had this computer for about 5 years and the only problems i have had were some data transfer glitches that were fixed by the free update, and a key breaking off, which was covered by applecare. i don't want a gaming laptop, i need a computer that is for work only and enough capability to play online without any problems.

the dell i had before the mac had a stuffty battery too, i don't even own the battery anymore. my dad uses it plugged in as a desktop.
