Author Topic: Laptop suggestion, hurr durr  (Read 1118 times)

Before you all go "hurr Alienware sucks, just hear me out. I have an Alienware M11X, bought for ~$650. The base price is $600, and even that laptop is great, and at only 11" across, it's very small and light, and there is no difference in performance when running on batteries. I get ~50 fps on Crysis on medium settings, no AA. This laptop is great, and it is not just "a shiny Dell with pretty lights".

I can second this, though I paid a lot more for mine (~$1000).

It's an excellent computer, can really show some customization (with nameplates and a choice of black or silver color) and pretty good specs for a subnotebook-sized laptop.

LOL HP.
nope.
the one i mentioned earlier is better.
HP's desktops suck richard. Laptops don't break as much as their desktops.
Also, i'm giving ideas out.

As I've said before: if you absolutely don't need a laptop, build/get a desktop PC.

It's more upgradable in the future, and is much more powerful than a laptop can ever be.
My room is far away from the router and we go on trips a lot. Easier for me

I'm playing around with the settings, thanks

The M11X runs nearly anything you can throw at it at Medium-High settings, I can squeeze 75-100 fps out of Fallout 3 on high with 4x AA.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions/concerns about the M11X, I could answer some having owned one for around 6 months.
