Fallout: New Vegas Honest Hearts help?

So. I'm a bit confused here.
I got the DLC. Traveled to Zion, killed a bunch of natives, grabbed the map, and left.
...What did I do wrong? I didn't talk to anyone after I entered and the caravan I was with was killed.
When I got to the Northern Passage I killed some Walking Cloud person and it said I failed a quest, so I knew I did something wrong. But she attacked me first :(
I do believe I have a save before I went in there. Should I reload that save and go back and do something different? I passed through it in about 30 minutes or so just because of the fact I had to walk all that way.
Any ideas? People who've played the DLC before?

well i killed everyone there. i thought they were all trying to kill me, oh well. ill play through it later.
