Spiral Knights question?

I got the version of spiral knights before it came out on steam, I got in-game achievments for that copy, I'm right now downloading the steam copy. Will my achievments sync, or will I need to earn EVERTHING all over again, including making a new account?

achievements only work if you login with steam account so yes you need new char.
Ps:achievements suck anyhow.

you can log in with your old account on the steam verson.
