More games involving open world parkour.

Seriously- Half the time in inFAMOUS I just richard around and jump on buildings. Even though Mirror's Edge is pretty linear, it's still fun to get that fluid motion.

I'm not sure you understand what a cliche is.

Oh, wow, sorry.

I just got caught up in the entire "What could make games better" phase of this discussion.

Here's a cliche: Not having a final boss battle! WTF? Where's the giant awesome monsters you train the entire game for! Where's bowser and Jubileus!
In all these FPS games and such, the ending is either ridiculously easy or tough. And it's always a bunch of enemies not some hulking behemoth. I want hulking behemoths.

One good guy can conquer unbelievable numbers of bad guys
This makes sense when your character is some sort of super-soldier (crysis, halo, doom, etc.) but when you're just a grunt that kills tons of other grunts it ruins the willing suspension of disbelief.

EXTREMELY linear paths.
Some games are linear without making it seem that way: for example, having a wide, open area but most other paths seem useless, but other times there is a foot-tall bush blocking an area, and you are unable to pass through it.

if you get shot in the head all you need to do is hide behind a car to get better.

getting hurt, no matter where, is always fixed by taking some sort of medical kit to your legs, arms, or torso.

I hate how the online gameplay can be completely different than how the single player plays so its like a different game.

invisible barriers, many invisible barriers in games are so stupid like Blockoman said just a little bush can stop you, or there's literally an invisible wall in a clear path at least make the barriers realistic

Stop playing stuffty FPSs, problem solved.
What other FPSs have been coming out?

Just because FPSs are unrealistic doesn't mean they're stuffty. If you want a war simulator, play ARMA. If you want to play a fun and interesting game, they haaave to exaggerate the realities of what you can do with guns, movement, inventory, etc. Or else what you'd be playing would just be arduous instead of fun. Even ARMA exaggerates to a certain degree.
I mostly just referring to the op saying they all have the same story. I mostly just don't like fps games at all.

Exploding barrels.

They are in 95% of all games.

Game shatteringly big C4 explosions. I mean, I realise that C4 is powerful, but why the forget would you exaggerate everything else, and then make C4 impossible to disam, then kill half of everyone in the map?
Not fair.

OMG C4, don't worry, shooting the wires disarms it irl. *shoots c4 wire* *c4 explodes* WTFFFFFFFFFFF
