If I buy Halo 2 for the PC, then install a Windows XP patch, can I still play multiplayer?

no because nobody plays it anymore. servers are all empty or private.

If it's legitimate and you're logged into Live, then yes.

If Halo 1 is alive, I'm sure that 2 is.

It's sort of alive.

I haven't played it in a long time but its only good for maybe singleplayer and thats it.

I played both singleplayer and multiplayer lately.

Both still work. ;)

I'm surprised though, Xbox Live was taken down for the Xbox originals, most people have computers, so i thought some of those people would have gone over to the PC version
