The Blockland Sports Thread :D

Hello All.

It has recently come to the attention to me that we have little to no sports here on blockland either evented or as mods. Yes there are things such as deathmatches but are they really sports? No, they aren't.

Sports in real life were made for fun, and they should be made on Blockland for the same reason. They would add another dimention to this sand box game.

This is what I ask from all of you.

Suggest in as much detail as possible custom sports that could be made to be modded or evented into Blockland and I'll do my best to make it happen. Thanks.

Skiing slalom? Or...however you spell it?

Flag bricks wouldn't really have to be made but a gamemode and a couple bricks in the middle of the slalom that would add time to the gamemode. Or, you could have one brick of two flags that have an invisible line that adds time?

Anywho, just to the basics: A ski slalam with flags you have to ski through that adds time.

I have a soccer save, pretty good if I don't say so myself.

It's just a little glitchy.
I also am going to suggest a playertype for it.

This is actually what I have been working on when I am bored.

I have all events and such laid out for the sports it's just the getting such items as the soccer ball, basketball, sandman I havent tried yet.

But anyway, I can't tell, are you requesting ideas so that you would make them, ie you could model and script a basketball, or is it just builds?

The only problem with the sandman in baseball is that you'd need for the ball to be picked up again, which is why I thought up not using it.  Here is my plan for the simple hitting off.

Person up at bat has a wall of say 3x3 1x1 bricks.  When the ball is thrown at one of the batter's blocks like the D-angry ball, the batter then selects one of the bricks, which it will reappear, and if the batter selected the correct brick, the ball bounces back to the pitcher.  The only problem is that it can't be picked up again.

Expan on that would ya, I'm away from any possibility of blockland for a week.

I also have evented a fully functioning basketball court with scoreboard and all.  I am currently working on the more zonular sports such as soccer an football.

Football seems it would be easy. You would need the football add on and i think you can catch it.

Tonce was working on a football stadium. It is pretty lovey. I hope he hosts again so I can challenge him :T
