looks to me that the battery is rotating and not the copper wire

the copper is touching the positive pole of the battery and then touching the magnet under it causing it to spin

If you put like two aa batteries in a glass of water and let it soak for an hour, you can then put your cell phone charger/usb-to-phone cable in it and it will charge it! This is how the rioters in egypt keep there phones charged.
