fallout 3 or new vegas?

i've played the beginning of fallout 3, but all i did was piss off the first village.

Get Fallout 3, it's so much darker and the environment is so well designed, instead of "hur flashing lite"

Fallout New Vegas I would say, besides you do not have to deal with those pesky metro tunnels.

New Vegas doesn't have essential NPCs like Fallout 3. If you kill a specific NPC you either make the quest harder or fail it.

In Fallout 3 if you kill a specific NPC they will become unconscious. There has to be over 20 essential NPCs.

so that means that new vegas has more freedom? i remember in fallout 3 i spent four minutes shooting a girl in the face and all she said was "you're acting weird."

New Vegas has a better speech system. In Fallout 3 all your special speech "Minigames" are random, whereas in New Vegas if you level a skill up high enough, you never fail.
