Author Topic: Auto-Join  (Read 582 times)

Too lazy to keep trying to join a over-populated server? Me too! Idea is that there is a extra little button near the Join Server button, It opens a menu that will keep sending requests until accepted

I'm pretty sure this would most likely lag the server you are trying to join.

No.

Even if it wouldn't lag, it'd be annoying as hell to have bandwidth wasted on both ends with unnecessary connection requests.

How about a message box that pops up telling you the server isn't full anymore?

What difference for that make? It's still checking if the server has a slot.

A connection request barely uses any bandwidth - there's no problem with this idea at all.

I don't know... I know it'd be annoying if you try to check something in console and see a spam of "IP has tried to connect and failed." I just don't like the idea of promoting just anyone constantly ping off the server without actually being in it.

What server is that popular for this to be needed?  I usually just check back in a few minutes if it seems like fun, then give up after a few tries.

Edit:  Maybe a waiting queue for a server - like, a box that remembers the servers you wanted to connect to.  When there is room, and you are top on the list, it will give you a message-box-OK with the server name, host and an Accept / Decline option.

If this could work, even when you join another server, that'd be useful at least.

Edit2:  lmao.  http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=174208.0

Sorry Slimabob.

I'd like one that auto joins it, not if your admin lets you join it.
