I mean, you would think that if this was real they would have mentioned it on their twitter. Right?
Turns out a search for "facebook OR like OR cancel OR million from:nbccommunity" on twitter turns up nothing! Their website also says nothing about this, other then a general advertisement plugging their facebook page. I'd just like to add that my school's student affairs department had a campaign trying to get 5000 people to like them on facebook. Turns out they just wanted people following them, the school wasn't actually planning on getting rid of the student affairs department.
Clearly it's a conspiracy - NBC wants keep the Community from getting support so they can free up the time slot so they can run yet another show about couponing!
So where did this news come from? The cast? Producers? Leaked meeting minutes from NBC executives? "An anonymous source who is familiar with the matter?" A spiritual medium? A ouija board? Divination?
Surely this would have shown up in the entertainment press... Unless they are a part of the conspiracy too!
Here's what I'd like to propose: this page is in the same vein as the the page saying facebook would cost $5 a month unless his page got a million likes. The author came up with a great headlines "like this page or the community gets it," cited a Reuters article to feign legitimacy (even though a cursory glance at the reuters article contradicts everything the group claims), and then set up a page for it.
Sorry but you fell for it :(
It's okay, so did 620 other people.
