it was this game where you had to drive to and from a bunch of places because somebody stole some disk with important information or some stuff

the weapons were the best part, i loving loved the laser cannon and sonic boom

looking back at it though the voice is kind of annoying, the music is generic and meh, but the controls were easy to pick up :D

Never had Velocity X, but I just installed MechaniX a few weeks ago. Beat it in the same day.

I loved this game as a kid. Easily my favorite PC game.
