Author Topic: A few questions about getting gmod  (Read 670 times)

I just got some money, and I noticed Gmod is 49 RUR (russian currency for you uninformed guys) which is right within my range of money, but

1. Is it good?
2. If it needs a source game, does TF2 count?
3. Is it non-complicated enough for my type of guy?

Yes. Play Trouble in Terrorist Twon on the LUE server and no other server.

It's complicated at first, but I think easy self taught thing.

1: Its highly enjoyable, with all the Add-ons and the fact that you have a large inventory of props can make the game last a good while. Planning "Kill Breen" missions, making bases, exploring maps like gm_bigcity, Helicopter Raids, RPing, and like much more.

2: TF2 should work but I recommend getting Gmod bundled with CSS since lots of maps and gamemodes use CSS content.

3: It's not too complicated, but stuff like Wire and E2 need to be self taught over time. Don't worry though, its fun to do the basics and stuff.

GMod + CS:S (unless you have it, then get hl2. but if you have that, get any of them.)

I don't think free games count in general.

But Gmod revolves around game models/textures, CS:S being the most dominant, if you are missing it, you are also missing all the models and textures of many gamemodes, maps, etc.

Doesn't Gmod come with some HL2 stuff even if you don't have it?

It's not required but its recommended. I think. I hope

I have all the HL2 models in Gmod without it so yes I'm pretty sure unless HL2 Ep 1 and 2 count as HL2.

TF2 works but its best to use CS:S for Gmod im still kinda confused on some of the stuff cuase there is alot of content and stuff to do but its really fun in the end.
