Author Topic: My friends parents are stupid.  (Read 1725 times)

I like riding my bike a lot. Though there's not much to do, so I just use my PC a lot too.
Same.

I pretty much spend 3/4 of my time on my computer or on my 360. Outside is frankly pretty boring unless you have friends out there playing with you.

Sometimes they're scared of things they don't understand.
While they do have a point, people should spend more time outside, 1-2 hours outside is enough, then he can read books and play games and talk and eat and whatever, that will take up the rest of the time. That way he would feel free while not spending too much time on the computer.

you emphasize the computer time issue as if it were the worst problem on that list. that's probably the most superficial. at the least, if it's entirely because she went outside when she was little, that's logically invalid.

The saying he's not social is a bit different. I HIGHLY doubt she does any sort of observation of investigation to back this up (and bases it probably off of how much he talks to her?). Criticizing your offspring's social life is a bit of an odd thing to do anyways, doing it for apparently no reason is even more so odd.

Saying "we went outside way back when" shouldn't be used to set a precedent for a generation which has access and is, in a sense, encouraged to use technology. These other means of entertainment just occupy that time, and I'm sure when he was smaller he went outside a lot more.

His mother needs to think for a bit, but other than that, I don't see many issues.

I have a similar limitation, on weekdays I get 1 hour of computer time, and on weekends, I get 3. That includes Xbox shtuff.

Eh, it's not that bad. Your friend will get used to it.

I did. :/

I play with toy rifles.
I might try and join the British air cadets in my area.
Army cadets suck to be honest. First session blew.
March then do a quiz.

I personally like outside better than on the computer, i sleep better and everything.
But, my main problem is that i live in a small mountain town, and i live in a neighborhood where everyone is like
OMG VIDEOGAEMSLOEL.

outside > being a no-lifer on the computer.
