Author Topic: More... Presentation and Creativity  (Read 872 times)

I'm not saying that blockland is ugly or does not allow you to build cool stuff or anything. I just think blockland need more ways to present add-ons and a few more creative things.

Add-on image and description:

Noticeable Differences (besides rtb look):
DEFAULT Add-On Saver
Add-On Image
Add-On Description

How it would work:
The default add-on saver would be really, really helpful. I know there is already one on RTB, but it seems qualified to be default.
The Add-On image would be an 206x158 .png image, any larger/smaller the game would just stretch the image to fit. I suppose it would be placed in the .zip and called "image.png".
The Add-On description would be like placing the description.txt under the image.

Planning to add detailed info about a gui texture editor also, but not right now...

Why the hell would it be 206x158?
Why not, say, 200x150?

Here's a creative and new way to present add-ons, take all the buttons and put them all over the place and make them spell blockland  :cookieMonster:, disorginization can be so creative.
realize the sarcasm
But seriously yes to OP.

/support

i hope this will be done

Was this image edited as an example of what you want? Or is this a real thing?

It would be a real pain updating all those old add-ons to encompass this though...

I don't think you would have to. It could run through RTB where a picture and a description are already held.
It just wouldn't work for non RTB Add-ons.

If there is no preview picture or non-RTB add-on, it could show a picture that says "Unknown add-on" like the 'Unknown map'/default map picture

It should just use the pics from RTB (you could pick a thumbnail as the author), not whatever handicapped size he suggested :P

Do eet

Do eet now

Things without picures would have a ? on it, and descriptions would be from description.txt
